About The Artist
I like to tell people I’m one of a few true Texans, born in the state’s capital, Austin. However, I've never owned a cowboy hat or a pair of boots (sigh). As a child, my sisters and I were always doing craft projects. Even walked the neighborhood trying to sell our wares. I took ceramics, painting, gymnastics, tap, and piano lessons. Always looking for a creative outlet until I found a passion for paint, texture and colors. I was fortunate to live in an area that had a high school magnet program for art studies. Then 2 years at the Dallas Art Institute and earned a bachelor's degree in Industrial Art from North Texas University (currently called University of North Texas or UNT). It’s just recently that I started working with palette knives and textured painting techniques that add so much life to a piece. I love running my hand over the surface adding another dimension to the excitement of the finished artwork.
